HHGF supports the 2. Heinrich Albert Guitar Contest

On 10th and 11th of November 2007 in Gauting near Munich a contest will take place for the second time wanting to reintroduce the works of the German guitarist, mandolinist and composer Heinrich Albert (1870-1950) to the musical present. For a long time Gauting was Albert’s home and the Music School Gauting-Stockdorf honours the fact by hosting this contest which will be supported by the Hermann Hauser Guitar Foundation Munich.

This year’s categories will include not only the solo contest for guitar but the duo category for mandolin and guitar as well. Both categories will be divided into three subcategories depending on the age of the contestant. All children and youths between the ages of 10 and 20 can participate, provided that they live in Germany.

For all contestants it is obligatory to play defined works of Albert which, if necessary, are available via the hosting Music School Gauting-Stockdorf.

The number of participants is limited and the last day for registration is August 31st.
