| Foundation directors meet Eliot Fisk in Salzburg

Heidi Schmidt and Klaus Wolfgang Wildner met Eliot Fisk in Salzburg on
December 18, 2004.
The meeting took place at the hotel Altstadt, which is located directly
at the Salzach river. Eliot Fisk had already avowed himself to an active
cooperation within the Foundation curatorship before this Salzburg meeting.
Fisk emphasized the importance of the formation of the Foundation and he
is convinced that important impulses will emerge from this association.
Especially the necessity of international networking and bundling competence
in the scope of guitaristic was discussed. The foundation staff and making
use of up-to-date communication technologies fully meet the requirements
for being able to reliably manage the vast management and communication
processes.
Eliot
Fisk appreciates the conception of the Foundation university, which features
an up-to-date, project-orientated and interdisciplinary concept. He is
delighted to be available for projects to be commissioned or produced
by the Foundation. One of his special concerns is to give to a broad audience
an understanding of the classical guitar. At that, he pursues undogmatic
and innovative ways, because it´s especially the persons who are
not familiar with classical music who he wants to give an understanding
of the beauty and the musical possibilities of the classical guitar. With
Eliot Fisk, the Hermann Hauser Guitar Foundation gains an outstanding
artist and representative of the classical guitar, a very experienced
and especially competent teacher who knows how to convince by means of
enormous energy and joy. Heidi Schmidt and Klaus Wolfgang Wildner gained
a precious friend.
Already,
ample guitar playing is a tradition when Foundation members meet. Eliot
Fisk was pleased with the opportunity of playing three guitars of Klaus
Wolfgang Wildner´s collection. He played for more than one hour
in the hotel room. The performance exeeded trying out some guitars by
far, that´s how many hotel guests (not familiar with classical
music) could be reached by the fine art of playing the guitar. He had
much fun in playing a quint bass guitar from the Hermann Hauser I workshop,
manufactured in 1924.
We are very much looking forward to the groundbreaking
projects we will launch together.
