| Quintbass goes Pop Sandhausen, Nov. 30, 2005 Between Mannheim and Heidelberg you can find the contemplative village Sandhausen. Michael Koschorreck (Kosho) and Markus Born are a well-rehearsed team. Kosho is guitarist of the very successful German band “Söhne Mannheims”. Markus is one of the producers of the “sons” and their audio engineer as well as producer of Kosho´s solo albums. The quint bass guitar premiered in the renowned sound studio Leyh, where many recordings with jazz and classic world stars were realized.
After being introduced to the instrument Kosho moved closer to the unusually big guitar. Markus alternately positioned himself in different corners of the 150 square meter recording room, listened very closely and quickly became enthusiastic about the power of the quint bass guitar filling the room with a very sophisticated sound. Fit for pop? No doubt! This instrument may well accompany a gospel choir or a rap band … who accompanies who?
After a short period of warming up „I wonder why“ and „Tingall“ sounded on the 1922 quint bass guitar for the first time. These wonderful pieces of music were composed by Kosho and appear on his current solo album “Tingall”. Tingall is an Indonesian word, translated literally it means: stay here, live, dwell … The quint bass guitar has two new friends who´d prefer it stay with them. "…never seen an island like this before Tinggal Tinggal I recall…" http://www.kosho.de http://www.klangstudio-leyh.de http://www.wildner-records.com Dec. 6, 2005 |
