„My
Life in Music” about the guitarist Julian Bream is a fantastic
movie! It is produced with a lot of empathy for the artist and
the instrument guitar. You don´t have to be a guitarist to
curiously listen to Julian Bream´s exciting, congenial and
very personal narration of his life in the gorgeous ambience of
Semley.
I recommend to every guitarist and everyone interested
in the guitar to enjoy this movie like you enjoy some really good
whisky, a movie that is most advanced also in technical regards.
It not only gives you a better understanding of the artist Julian
Bream, but turns him into your guest, very close to you, and you
feel comfortable and carefully listen to the sounds of wonderful
and wonderfully played guitars.
The
very personal meeting with Julian Bream, his guitaristic development,
his musical work, the marvellously documented dialogue between
Bream and Stravinsky, the walks in the charming landscape in Semley
Dorset, driving in an “old car” and many other things
make this movie a haunting experience.
A movie of lyric vibes, raising all our senses!
