will you find the best sound for a guitar concert? Acoustics is the main criterion for ranking among the first concert halls worldwide. The desire for well sounding acoustics is nearly the same for musicians and visitors. On the other hand performers and the audience have different needs regarding the same room. For musicians on stage, the ability to effectively communicate with each other is vital. For the audience it is more important to have a comfortable seat and an open view to the artists. At the moment guitar concerts are a dangerous game for anyone interested in guitar music. Does the guitar sound better in a church or in a gym? Does a theater really have the best acoustics for a guitar quartet? For this reason, the Hermann Hauser Guitar Foundation has ordered a user need study. In this study, both performers and the audience are asked to describe their own feelings about different concert halls.
