The management of the Foundation is in the field of responsibility of the Board of Directors, which is authorized
by the foundation board.

Mrs. Heidi Schmidt, Chairwoman,
Ms. Grit Schmidt, Deputy Chairwoman, and Mr. Masayuki Kato manage the office of the Hermann Hauser Guitar Foundation.





Masayuki Kato

  • Studies with I. Suzuki in Tokio
  • 1969 First Prize at the music contest of the national Japanese broadcasting company
  • 1972 Emigration to Germany
  • International master classes with Oscar Ghiglia, Narciso Yepes, Alirio Diaz and Julian Bream
  • Musical influence of Alexandre Tansmann, John W. Duarte and Joaquin Rodrigo
  • 1974 Silver Prize at the international music contest „Viotti“ and First Prize at the international guitar competition
    in Milano
  • 1974 thru 1980 Lecturer for the subject guitar at the University of Music, Aachen, Germany
  • Lecturer at international guitar classes in Reisbach and Tokio
  • 1996 Seminar at the University of Music in Oslo, Norway

  • Member of the jury at the international guitar competition in Japan, Germany and Spain (international guitar competition „Andres Segovia“)
  • Chamber music in duet with Peter Lukas Graf, one of the world´s best flutists, and in the Matiegka Trio with the soloists of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchstra
